I'm Mrs. Koetje! I am a K-2 Resource Room teacher in West Michigan. I attended Grand Valley State University for my undergrad and graduated with a degree in Special Education {certified K-12 with endorsements in emotional and cognitive impairments}. I also obtained a Master's degree from Calvin College in Educational Leadership. I absolutely love teaching! I have a huge passion for connecting with students and adapting instruction to meet their individual needs. One of my favorite things about teaching is the constant laughter it brings me. Working with younger students- they tend to have a lot of personality and leave me with stories that I'll never forget!
Below are photos of my husband, my dog {Dave,} and myself. My husband and I have been married for almost 4 years and met in college. We live in Grand Rapids and enjoy riding our bikes to restaurants and shops {especially} when the weather is nice! We do not have children yet but we have a fur baby named Dave. He is a certified therapy dog which allows me to have the opportunity to bring him to school with me! Dave loves to provide support to students by offering pets to help ease anxieties, encouraging students to read to him, teaching students to be calm around animals, and just being cute.
